Mary Jane (Rutter) Shaffer

     Mary Jane (Janie) Shaffer of Chagrin Falls passed away peacefully on December 12th, 2025. Born in Greensburg PA to Thomas and Margaret Rutter, Janie was part of a large family with three sisters, Clara, Dorothy (Dot), Margaret (Peg), and brother Thomas (Tom). Janie was preceded in death by her beloved husband Raymond (Dutch) Francis Shaffer both of Greensburg PA.  Dutch and Janie gave life to and lovingly raised three children. The family moved to Lake Lucerne, Chagrin Falls, OH in 1976, where they attended Fellowship Bible church. She is survived by Bruce Raymond (Terri), Diana Margaret and Jeffrey as well  

as grandchildren, Mathew J. Shaffer (Erin), Lindsay M. Walters (James) and Megan L. Shaffer and four great-grandchildren, Leah, Olivia, James and Benjamin.

Janie was known for her faith in God, her kindness and ministered hospitality and her stories that we called her Life lessons. Janie touched many lives throughout her life, and she will be greatly missed.

     A celebration of life service will be held 1:00 PM Friday, January 23rd at Fellowship Bible Church 16391 Chillicothe Rd. Chagrin Falls, Ohio 44023.
